Website Redesign

OnPath FCU is a Credit Union that needed a digital makeover.

They wanted a new website designed because, according to the stakeholders, the current one just wasn't working for them, and since their CMS platform was ending their contract, now felt like the best time.

I had to ask- what really was wrong with the current site?

This led me through a series of stakeholder interviews, user feedback surveys, and accessibility audits on their current site to find some answers.

Research Findings

Going through that information gave a long list of issues with the current site, including:

  • Disorganized Site Map

  • Confusing Navigation

  • Lost CTA's

  • Hidden Pages disrupted SEO

  • Mismatched Graphics

  • Inaccurate Information

And plenty more

Step 1

I focused on setting user personas to direct story maps in order to chart the most vital interactions for users.

Step 2

I reorganized the Site Map and started researching competitors to decide how layouts should be represented

Step 3

I started sketching out layouts and building wireframes

A big problem with the previous site was that every designer left their mark, and none of those marks matched. So implementing a universal Style Guideline to modernize and unify the company brand was a must.

What you Should Notice from the Final Wireframes

Here's a overview of the main changes to the site

  • Our main hero slider is immediately followed by a hot bar with the three main actions a user would need when navigating to the site

  • Navigation was moved to the header for clarity, including a dropdown that clear shows all pages associated with each landing page

  • Product Information is clearly presented for users to digest, taking advantage of some visual hierarchy skills

  • Overall look and feel is clean and vibrant!
